Safety Manager

The Nickel and Zinc (NiZn) Safety Manager will contribute to the development of NiZn Safety management systems and improvement of global Safety performance. The role will support the implementation and ongoing evolution of Glencore’s Health, Safety, Environment, Communities \& Human Rights (HSEC\&HR) strategy, including SafeWork, the associated Safety technical standards and guidance, and safety strategic projects in alignment with Glencore’s Health and Safety Policy. In this position, travel to sites will apply of around approximately 40% of time.

This role reports to the NiZn Department HSEC and HR Lead.

The main tasks and responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation and evolution of Glencore’s Health, Safety, Environment, Communities \& Human Rights (HSEC\&HR) strategy including SafeWork, Fatal Hazard Protocols, and associated safety Technical Standards and guidance within the NiZn Department
• Support global continuous improvement through contributing to the design of systems and processes to monitor, assure and report on Safety performance
• Deliver technical support to the NiZn assets in the areas of Safety and Group-wide Safety management system
• Support the development and implementation of assurance processes for Glencore’s safety management, as required
• Support data management and ensure timely and accurate delivery of any required information for internal and external reporting, including the Annual Report, Annual Sustainability Report, and ICMM-required reporting
